"A Fine Bunch Of Criminals" July 12, 2010 Madison Square Garden - New York, NY (GDT-R135) |
Sign up : 1/20/2011 |
GRADE : B
MASTERING NOTES :
A very spirited performance by both bands. MP makes many references to playing “The Garden” throughout the set, particularly during “Constant Motion”. I can’t speak about Maiden as I don’t really care for them, but they sounded decent and got the crowd fired up. As usual, the sound guy goes way overboard on vocal effects, combined with the horrific acoustic of MSG, it makes the vocals almost unintelligible. Nick was in the prime taping spot for this, his recording was perfect, the venue…not so much.
ANAMOLIES :
There’s a guy singing his balls off during The Wicker Man, after the song, you can hear Nick ask if he can switch spots so his recording doesn’t have the guys singing on it, and from there on out, you can’t hear Mr. Maiden.
